Directional Infringement: AI Risk Classification

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is advancing at an unprecedented rate, and while it offers immense potential for transforming our world, it also poses a significant challenge. AI systems are increasingly being integrated into our daily lives, from self-driving cars to personal digital assistants, and their impact is likely to be felt in all sectors of society. However, if not handled responsibly, AI could pose problems that could undermine human safety, privacy, security and ultimately happiness. It is our responsibility as a society to define how we deal with the challenges posed by AI. We must develop guidelines and regulations that ensure the responsible development and use of these technologies, balancing the benefits of AI with the potential risks. This will require collaboration between governments, academia, and industry leaders to ensure that AI is developed and deployed in ways that align with societal values and goals. This document, made for the AI Governance Alignment Jam #6, outlines a system for classifying risks to help policymakers more effectively analyse and combat these possibilities.
